The Middle East might not be the most obvious place to search for a supermodel prepared to brave the runway in skimpy outfits and killer heels, but recently a hot new wave of talent has emerged from the region.

Stunning specimens with catwalk dreams are leaving the region's conservatives behind to make it in the world of fashion. And, not afraid to ruffle some feathers both on and off the runway, these beautiful men and women are fast becoming the fashionable face of Arab revolution.

Tunisian supermodel Hanaa Ben Abdesslem might be new to the industry but she has made sure to dig her stiletto heels firmly into the runway, making herself the must-have model for fashion events across the world.

And Hanaa isn't alone. Moroccan model, Hind Sahli, has strut her stuff on the catwalk for international designers Hervé Léger and Vera Wang, while also posing for snaps in the Spanish and Italian editions of Vogue.

23-year-old Arab-Israeli model, Huda Naccache, has also followed suit, posing for a controversial cover shoot for an Arabic magazine in nothing but a bikini.

And nothing has dealt a bigger blow to conservative sensibilities than Muslim model, Sila Shahin's, topless shoot for German Playboy.

Both lauded and loathed across the region, these fashionistas have refused to let anything stand in the way of their model ambitions.

And with more hotties ready to join the revolution, 2013 looks set to be a year of model mayhem for the Middle East.
