We know what celebs like to do for a career, but how do they like to spend the little free time they have every once in a while? Despite having to cram in a full schedule of shooting films, fashion shoots, music videos or attending parties and ceremonies, the busy bees do not give up on their hobbies – many of which can only be afforded by their luxurious lifestyles.
Take Lebanese singer Ragheb Alama for example, he's an avid sports car collector and even teaches his son how to drive them. He also enjoys football and watching science fiction movies. Why is he into those movies in particular? Apparently, by watching them until the early hours of the morning, he can unravel the secret plans powerful countries have in store for the rest of the world.
Ever head the phrase “Ahmed bought a bike” in the Arab world? Well, that's because Egyptian comedian Ahmed Helmy has made buying a motorcycle famous. He loves those beasts so much that he's always got his hands on the latest and most advanced ones in store. You might spot Ahmed riding to work on one of his bikes as well. This is more than just a hobby for him, this is a lifestyle.
As for loving things that are a bit more feminine, lovely Lebanese singer Madeline Matar enjoys collecting French perfume bottles. Well, they are super cute and sexy.
Melhem Zein on the other hand is a typical guy! The singer loves to spend his free time playing billiard and at least three games of football a week.
Our next girly-girl celeb loves to make the Arabic dessert “Knafeh,” a recipe she learned from her grandmother, whenever she's got time. Her talents also lie in cross-stitching, that even one company asked to buy one of her own designs. It doesn't end there; May has 15 dogs – yes, 15, which she's trained all by herself. Wow!
Prepare yourselves for the weirdest “hobby” yet: singer Nicolas Nakhle enjoy collecting shoes. Why's that weird? He doesn't buy them to wear them, he just collects them to look at. He's over 100 pairs of new shoes in his cupboard. Hmmm!
Serial-wife Sabah is obsessed with dresses. She owns over 200 dresses custom-made by Lebanese designer William Khoury. The singer is even thinking of putting her collection up in an exhibition. Some of the dresses were made with actual gold threads and precious stones.
A funny hobby is that of actor Ashraf Abdel Baqi. He's still into reading the comic book “Mickey & Samir.” Ashraf used to love them and read them regularly as a child, and now buys them for his “kids” – or so he tells them!
Composer, or should we say “hunter” Samir Safir loves to hunt wild animals, especially pigs! He says that he would never hunt deer, birds or rabbits as it is uncivilized, but that pig hunting is OK. Whatever makes you happy, Samir!
Last on our list is singer Shatha, who has a serious love for toys! She's been collecting toys since she was a child, and if you walk into her home now, you will find them scattered everywhere!
Well, that's some of what our celebs like to do. What hobbies do you have?
