ALBAWABA - Princess Lilibet Diana, the daughter of Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle, was baptized at their California home.

This is the first public acknowledgement that Lilibet is a princess and confirms that the Royal titles will be used for the couple's children, although Bukingham Palace has not publicly endorsed the title.

The children of the Duke and the Duchess of Sussex are legally entitled to be given royal titles, based on a rule that the grandchildren of the monarch, King Charles III, are thus titled.

The christening of Princess Lilibet Diana reportedly took place at the couple's California home and in the presence of her three-year-old brother, Archie, the sixth in line of succession to the British throne.

Harry and Meghan are said to not want to deny their children the chance to inherit royal titles from their father - seeing it as their birthright - but will allow Archie and Lilibet to decide whether to drop or keep using the royal titles when they are older.

Meghan famously told Oprah Winfrey that initially, Archie was not given the title of prince allegedly because of his race, but this was disputed by the palace and constitutional experts.

However, the title was bestowed upon Archie when his grandfather, King Charles III, ascended to the British throne following the death of his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, the longest serving monarch at the age of 96 in September.
