Deputising for His Majesty King Abdullah, Minister of Education and Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Wajih Owais on Tuesday inaugurated an international conference titled Jordan’s 100-year Global Image, organised by the Hashemite University in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

The three-day conference brings together 60 intellectual, political, academic and research elites from all over the world to discuss major issues, highlighting the image of Jordan from “the other’s perspective”, its vision and future.
"We are entering the bicentenary of the age of the Jordanian state, looking at the world with the demographic changes, changes in the climate, water security, political and economic challenges, in addition to the acceleration in progress and technological development and the use of artificial intelligence," Owais said.

The first day of the conference included three sessions: Visions towards Jordan moderated by former prime minister Abdel Raouf Rawabdeh; The Image of Jordan as a State moderated by Senate President Faisal Fayez; and Transformations in the History and Images of the Jordanian State moderated by former prime minister Adnan Badran.
