A Saudi man chasing monkeys raiding his farm accidentally killed a 70-year-old man when he opened fire with his automatic rifle at the fleeing simians.

One bullet hit the old man in the chest as his car was passing by just outside Jayef town in the southern Asir Province.

When he rushed to the car to check the old man, the driver jumped out and stabbed the farmer several times, injuring him seriously.

Ajel newspaper said the wounded farmer, in his 60s, was rushed to hospital while the driver was arrested.
