There's a new beer in town that's really ahead of the herd!
Sheperds Beer produced its first 2,000 bottles of Blonde Pilsner Lager in Bir Zeit, the West Bank in mid-June.
“It was a fastidious and challenging launch, but the results after only five weeks are really positive and encouraging,” the company's 27-year-old CEO Alaa Sayej told The Media Line.
Since then Sayej added two new products, an Amber Ale and a Stout.
Sayej's beers quickly made their way into restaurants, bars, weddings, and graduation parties. He even provides customers with a draft beer machine and keg for parties.
“Since the first bottling, we’ve had more than 15 events, from weddings and graduations to engagements and baptisms. People are really enthusiastic about the idea of having fresh beer served to them immediately,” the brewer said.
Sayej is even considering making at-home brewing kits so you can whip up a batch of beer in your own kitchen!
And if you think alcohol is haram, fear not! Sheperds Beer plans to produce a non-alcoholic variety by the end of the year.
