Fancy a cold one? Maybe not after Tel Aviv is the third most expensive city for beer

Tel Aviv is the third most expensive city in the world to buy a bottle of beer, according to a European price comparison travel company. 

The GoEuro travel company ranked beer prices in 75 world cities comparing beers in stores and bars and found that Geneva was the most expensive city for beer followed by Hong Kong and then Tel Aviv. 

The cheapest city in the world to buy a beer according to the index was Krakow, followed by Kiev and then Bratislava. 

While a bottle of beer will cost you $2.70 at a bar in Krakow, in Tel Aviv it will cost $9.53. 

GoEuro noted that $10 in Krakow will get you just over six bottles of beer but in Geneva it won’t even get you two.  

Other interesting statistics from the index relate to average annual consumption of beer per capita in liters. Berliners drink 118 liters of year on average per year while Tel Avivians only drink 23 liters annually. The average person in Cairo drinks only four liters of beer a year. 

Last year Tel Aviv ranked fourth in the Beer Index ranking of forty cities.
