A Jordanian man in his fifties celebrated the Valentines day in a very different way - by shooting his wife and three children, before shooting himself.

The shootings took place in the neighborhood of Rujm-ash-Shami in the capital city, Amman.

Resources said that the children were transferred into Al-Toutanji hospital in critical condition, with head wounds. One of the children is on a ventilator, with skull wounds.

Neither the husband nor the wife survived.

Sources indicate that the couple had been in conflict, and the wife had left to stay at her family's home in Rujm al-Shami. Her husband came to visit, bringing the children with him.

He offered her a gift for Valentine's day, and asked about the divorce proceedings that the wife had started. He then shot her in the chest, shot their three children, and shot himself in the head.

The wife's mother and siblings were in the next room and immediately called the authorities.
