Turkish news provider Anadolu Agency has signed a cooperation agreement with Jordan’s official Petra News Agency.
Metin Mutanoglu, Anadolu Agency’s deputy director-general and editor-in-chief, penned the deal Sunday with Petra Director-General Faisal al-Shboul.
The agreement was signed in Amman in the presence of Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu -- who visited Jordan’s capital on Sunday -- and his Jordanian counterpart, Abdullah Ensour.
"We hope to promote wider cooperation [between the two news agencies]," Mutanoglu said at the signing ceremony.
"We appreciate the importance of the Petra News Agency, which enjoys a substantial presence throughout the region," he added.
