ALBAWABA - The first half of 2023 had gamers busy with Nintendo's Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, Square-Enix's Final Fantasy 16, Capcom's Resident Evil 4, and Street Fighter 6.
2023's second half is jam-packed with games spanning all genres and platforms, ranging from AAA games with stunning Unreal Engine 5 graphics to charming titles from Nintendo and Team Cherry.
Here are Al Bawaba’s top upcoming games for the second half of 2023
1) Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 - October 20 - PS5 exclusive
Peter and Miles make a comeback as playable characters in the long-awaited sequel from Insomniac Games, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2!
Marvel’s Spider-Man is Insomniac’s love letter to Spider-Man 2 on the PS2
The sequel will feature better combat mechanics, seamless transitions between the 2 Spider-Men, and the addition of a wingsuit giving gamers more traversal through the sky of New York City.
2) Assasin’s Creed Mirage - October 12 - PS, Xbox, and PC
Ubisoft is finally going back to Assassin’s Creed’s original roots and fans cannot be any more excited for Mirage.
The game will be set in Baghdad and will feature the Assasin Basim who played a pivotal role in Valhalla.
3) Starfield - September 6 - Xbox and PC
According to Bethesda’s Website, ‘’Starfield is the first new universe in over 25 years from Bethesda Game Studios, the award-winning creators of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and Fallout 4.’’
Starfield will have rich character customization, as well as 1,000 planets to explore and a 20 percent larger world than past Bethesda games, according to Bethesda CEO Todd Howard.
4) Alan Wake 2 - October 17 - PS, Xbox, and PC
After the success of the popular survival horror game Alan Wake, Remedy Entertainment is releasing Alan Wake’s sequel and it is looking better and darker than its predecessor, although it is the developer’s first foray into the survival genre.
Alan Wake 2 will be set in a small town filled with ritualistic murders and will follow the story of an FBI agent looking for answers and a writer trapped in a nightmare.
5) Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty - September 26 - PS5, Xbox, and PC
Phantom Liberty is CD Projekt Red’s newest expansion for Cyberpunk 2077.
Although it is an expansion, the developers have indicated that it would be so large that it may be considered a new game.
