King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) in Saudi Arabia unveiled Shaheen III, the most powerful supercomputer in the Middle East, designed by Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE).
Shaheen III achieved a top global standing, ranking first in the Middle East and 18th worldwide as it built on the HPE Cray EX liquid-cooled architecture and features 2,800 NVIDIA GH200 Grace Hopper Superchips, delivering triple the processing power of its predecessor, which relied solely on CPUs.

Among Shaheen III’s key applications is the development of a new generation of Arabic-focused small and large language models (LLMs), designed to capture the linguistic and cultural nuances of the Arab world.
