Total earnings for Qatar Islamic Bank reached QR186 million for the first half of 2000 — a rise of 34 percent over the figure of the corresponding period of 1999. Net profits sharply rose from QR84 million to QR184 million.
The bank's total assets and funds from financial activities each rose three percent to reach QR4.06 billion and QR3.31 billion respectively, for the end of June 2000.
The bank has continued to promote and contribute towards growth of the domestic economy, allocating 73 percent of its total investments to the industry and government sectors.— (Albawaba-MEBG)
