Tamkeen supports 30 businesses in GITEX 2013

Tamkeen announced its support to 30 companies that have benefited from the “Tarweej” scheme to exhibit at GITEX 2013, which is taking place in Dubai from Oct 20 – 24, 2013. The total support amount contributed by Tamkeen to these companies totaled BD120,000.

The scheme is one of many offered by Tamkeen under its Enterprise Development Support Programme, which offers subsidised business support services to businesses in Bahrain.

Through the scheme, Tamkeen enables businesses to participate in local, regional, and international trade fairs and exhibitions by covering 80% of the total participation cost. This includes registration fees, space rentals, and stand installation, as well as tickets, accommodation, and shipping costs for exhibitions held abroad.

This year’s GITEX exhibition, one of the largest of its kind in the world, has attracted nearly 150,000 professionals, over 3,000 companies and 80% of top international information and communications technology (ICT) brands from around 144 countries.

"GITEX is a significant regional event that brings together top companies from the ICT sector from all around the world," said Tamkeen’s Acting Vice-President for Private Sector Support in Tamkeen Mr. Mohammed Bucheery. "Enabling businesses in Bahrain to take part in such events allows them to build business relationships and discover all the latest trends within the sector, which ultimately boosts their potential for growth and development.”

To date, more than 6,500 businesses in Bahrain have benefited from Tamkeen’s Enterprise Development Support Programme.

In addition to “Tarweej”, Tamkeen also offers “Istishara” to assist in strategic planning, “Techania” to support the purchase of tools and equipment, “Jawda” to implement world-class quality standards, “Tasweeq” to support marketing functions, and the Legal Services Support Scheme to provide essential legal support for businesses.

Businesses wishing to benefit from Tamkeen’s Enterprise Development Support programmes may visit Tamkeen’s Enterprise Development Support Agency located at Meral Building located in the Seef area or Tamkeen’s Offices in Seef Mall.
