Tamkeen to hold workshops to discuss 2014 projects

Tamkeen will hold a series of consultation workshops with the public beginning from tomorrow (October 1). The workshops, will discuss Tamkeen’s planned projects for 2014, as part of Tamkeen’s efforts to further develop and enhance the services offered in line with market needs.
Attending the workshops will be a broad cross-section of economic sectors, thought leaders, and experienced specialists to enrich the debate and offer insights on Tamkeen’s initiatives and programmes. The workshops this year will be held over four days, with two days dedicated to the challenges and solutions related to businesses, and two days for the challenges and solutions of individuals.
The workshops will run from 8:30 AM to 1:00 PM. Each workshop will commence with a quick overview of Tamkeen’s programmes that are provided through support programmes, as well as the objectives and desired outcomes of the workshop. The attendees will subsequently be divided into groups, each discussing a specific sector that has been identified through preliminary studies conducted by Tamkeen. In the end, each group will present its recommendations on how to activate the operational plan for that particular sector.
The sectors which will attend the workshops include training and education, finance and business services, agriculture and fisheries, manufacturing, oil and gas, telecommunications and ICT, healthcare and pharmaceuticals, real-estate and construction, retail and wholesale trade, food and hospitality, transportation and logistics, media and advertising, government agencies, societies, as well as individuals. 80 to 120 people are expected to attend each workshop.
Topics on the first day are “Business Challenges” and “Business Support Solutions”, while the topics on the second day are “Workforce Challenges” and “Workforce Solutions”. The workshops will be repeated on October 6-7 with a different set of sectors to optimize the effectiveness of the workshops and ensure that all sectors are given an equal voice.
