The Traffic Department recently honored Arab Bank for its continuous support of the Department’s traffic safety initiatives to raise awareness and make the roads a safer place.

During the visit, the Traffic Department represented by Head of Public Relations, Lieutenant Colonel Maen Al Khasawneh presented the Bank with an honorary plaque in appreciation of Arab Bank’s efforts to support the Traffic Department’s different initiatives throughout the year.

During the visit, a summary of the success stories that were achieved in 2011 through these initiatives was presented to highlight the major headway that was made in spreading awareness amongst students in different schools across the Kingdom. The Bank and the Traffic Department also discussed future collaboration opportunities in order to build on the relationship between the two organizations.

Mr. Khasawneh commented during the visit, "Our collaboration with the Bank comes as part of the Traffic Department’s goal of realizing His Majesty the King’s vision to create true partnerships with the public and private sectors in order to unify efforts towards reducing traffic accidents.” Mr. Khasawneh further added, “We would like to thank and recognize the Bank for all their efforts and contributions towards our initiatives. The responsibility of traffic awareness does not only rest with one institution; to achieve meaningful results a joint effort is needed between the public and private sectors.”

Ms. Dina Shoman, Executive Vice President of Branding – Arab Bank, thanked the Traffic Department for all of their efforts and commented, “Arab Bank has continuously supported the important work of the Traffic Department through their awareness programs aimed at the prevention of traffic accidents and best practices for students, helping in planting the seed of responsibility and safety in their minds at an early stage.” Ms. Shoman concluded, “We hope for continued cooperation with the Traffic Department in upcoming years and we also hope to make more of an impact in the local community”.

In 2011, Arab Bank has sponsored “My school, my joy” campaign which covered the production and distribution of 50,000 copies of the Traffic Department’s traffic safety books in addition to sponsoring the annual school awareness campaign which was held in the beginning of the year. The Bank also supported the printing and distributing of 30,000 traffic safety posters and 20,000 traffic safety coloring books to local schools. These campaigns provided students with guidelines and tips through a multitude of tools such as interactive stories to encourage safety when walking on the roads. Arab Bank also supported awareness workshops with the Traffic Department at five schools that the Bank adopted in Al Nuzha under the Injaz school adoption program.
