PepsiCo-Jordan teams up with Jordan National Football Team on Pepsi Football Challenge

Under its partnership with the Jordan Football Association (JFA) and in cooperation with Samsung Electronics Levant, PepsiCo-Jordan and the Jordan national football team have hit the road for a Pepsi Football Challenge promotional campaign, launched on May 13 and lasting until 3 June, 2016. Visiting four cities – Amman, Irbid, Zarqa and Aqaba – the roadshow will allow the public to compete with the stars of the men’s national football team on a variety of challenges for the chance to win an assortment of home electronics as well as a grand prize of JOD 5,000 cash.
Based on the vast popularity of football amongst the general public, the Pepsi Football Challenge campaign comes as a public invitation for members of the local community to embrace physical activity and to adopt a healthy lifestyle built on movement and activity. The campaign kicked off at City Mall in Amman, where a specially-prepared football pitch was installed. The campaign will move on to King Abdullah II Park in Irbid on Friday 20 May, 2016, and then Safeway in Zarqa on Saturday 28, May, 2016, before concluding its activities at the Great Arab Revolt Square in Aqaba.
The Pepsi Football Challenge campaign features three football challenges, pitting the public against members of the men’s national football team. Winners will be entered into a series of draws to win different Samsung products, including LED televisions, refrigerators and DVD players. They will also be entered into the draw for the grand prize of JOD 5,000 cash, the winner of which will be announced upon the campaign’s conclusion at a celebration in Aqaba, featuring Jordanian artist Met'ab Al-Saggar and several freestyle football performances.
“Recreational and informative campaigns such as this one are very important to PepsiCo-Jordan’s mission, which aims to encourage members of the local community around the Kingdom to take up physical exercise so that they may enjoy a healthy lifestyle,” said Eng. Nidal Hamam, General Manager of PepsiCo-Jordan. “We expect a large turnout from Jordanian families in all four of the cities to be visited during the campaign, where they can compete face-to-face against their favorite stars from the men’s national football team within an entertaining and exciting atmosphere.”
On his part, Fadi Abu Shamat, Head of Retail and Corporate Marketing at Samsung Electronics Levant, said, “We are pleased to be cooperating with PepsiCo-Jordan for the second time on a new, fun-filled and beneficial campaign, which offers opportunities to win a number of valuable prizes. We at Samsung Electronics Levant will provide winners with state-of-the-art refrigerators, in addition to TVs and DVD players for a more enjoyable and immersive viewing experience.”
