Ooredoo Joins TRA for Anti-Online Fraud National Campaign

Putting the safety of customers first, Ooredoo sponsored the Telecommunication Regulatory Authority’s (TRA) ‘Don’t Be Deceived’ national awareness campaign to combat online and mobile phone fraud. Calling on all citizens and residents to be cautious of scammers trying to lure them with fake prizes, the campaign aims to safeguard callers from financial fraudsters who prey on people’s trusting nature.
Raed Mohamad Dawood, Director of Government Relations and Corporate Affairs at Ooredoo, said, “I would like to remind our customers that Ooredoo never calls to ask for, check or confirm any personal, account, password or bank details. If you have won something, we will ask you for a face-to-face meeting. In fact, customers should beware of anyone calling from any company and asking for personal information, or asking them to pay a bill or settle an account. If something seems too good to be true, it’s probably a fraud!”
Ooredoo is maximising its efforts to combat fraud, advising customers to never share personal information online, visit insecure websites, or call back suspicious numbers. While telephone scams are beyond the control of Ooredoo, the company strongly encourages anyone who suspects they have fallen victim immediately contact the ROP and the Public Prosecution to register a complaint.
