Ooredoo Data Centres Achieve Global ISO Certifications for Safety and Sustainability

Ooredoo’s state-of-the-art Bousher and Sohar Data Centres have been awarded the prestigious ISO/IEC 45001 (Occupational Health & Safety) and ISO/IEC 14001 (Environmental Management) certifications. These internationally recognised standards highlight Ooredoo’s commitment to operational excellence, sustainability, and best-practice compliance, reinforcing its data centres as a trusted foundation for enterprise and government digital transformation in Oman.
“Safety and sustainability are non-negotiable in ICT. Our achievements in this field demonstrate our commitment to building resilient infrastructure that our customers can trust for their most critical digital workloads, today and in the future,” said Dr. Jihad Al Ansari, Acting Chief Technology & Information Officer at Ooredoo.
The certifications establish Ooredoo Data Centres as the first in Oman to integrate safety and environmental best practice into ICT infrastructure at this scale. This sets a new benchmark for the Sultanate’s fast-growing ICT sector.
The achievement is also a cornerstone of Ooredoo’s ICT Operations Excellence Roadmap 2025, directly supporting the company’s ambition to launch Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) in Oman. This aligns with Oman Vision 2040, which emphasises sustainable economic diversification and national digital transformation.
