Land Rover and Sony Music collaborate with regional music stars to launch the original MYLAND soundtrack ‘Sahara Al Arab’
Land Rover MENA and the team at Sony Music Entertainment Middle East last night joined forces with some of the region’s hottest music and film talent to launch the original music score celebrating the cultural heritage and beauty of the Arab land.
Produced by renowned music producer, Jean-Marie Riachi, and supported by DJ and producer, Omar Basaad, ‘Sahara Al Arab’ is an anthology of native sounds from around the region.
The launch party saw some of the region’s hottest talent, creative minds, and artistic visionaries come together including shining stars of the Middle East’s film industry, Ali Mostafa and Ahmed Abdulqader who created a series of short films and a final music video to accompany the soundtrack.
Inspired by Land Rover’s ties to the MENA region’s culture and people, ‘Sahara Al Arab’ is the result of an 11-day musical journey by Jean-Marie Riachi and Omar Basaad. The music duo spent time meeting, discovering and documenting the musicians and sounds of the region, taking in KSA, UAE, Egypt, Oman and Lebanon.
A medley of sounds from the cultural tour was then arranged by Jean-Marie and his world-class studio team to produce the final ‘Sahara Al Arab’ soundtrack. In a youthful twist on the concept, a club remix produced by Omar ensures the project captures the imagination of all music fans.
