KPMG in Bahrain celebrates International Women’s Day

KPMG in Bahrain held an event at the firm’s headquarter yesterday to commemorate International Women’s Day (IWD). IWD is a global initiative celebrated annually on 8 March, to mark the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women.

Partner and Head of Advisory at KPMG in Bahrain Ramachandran Narayanan commented in his opening speech “At KPMG in Bahrain, we are proud to join with colleagues from around the world to celebrate IWD this year by marking women’s achievements within the firm and promoting gender equality. In today’s fast changing marketplace, it has become important for businesses to draw from a diverse range of experiences and perspectives to encourage innovation and stay competitive.”

KPMG’s global IWD campaign for 2017 ‘being bold, being extraordinary’ seeks to engage male and female members of staff to discuss and focus on how diversity is a vital part of the firm’s respectful and inclusive culture.

During the event, Ramachandran commended five female staff for achieving professional qualifications in 2016. Attendees also heard from staff about inspirational stories of influential women who changed and shaped their lives and careers.
