Indian man’s recurring dream realised as he becomes 2012’s first Dubai Bank Kunooz millionaire

Dubai Bank today announced Aslam Mohammed as 2012’s first winner of the monthly million dirham Kunooz Savings Account draw.
The Kunooz one million dirham draw is part of Dubai Bank’s strategy to reward its elite customers and grow their net worth. An Indian National working in the UAE’s financial services industry, Mr. Mohammed choose Kunooz for its ability to optimise the returns on his savings in a Sharia compliant manner.
Since opening an account in 2008, Mr. Mohammed, 32, has had a recurring dream that he would one day win the Kunooz Grand Prize draw. Just a few months after opening his account, he won AED 10,000 in the daily prize draw, but it would be another two years before his dream was realised.
“I had a dream that one day I would open the newspaper and see my name printed as the winner of the Kunooz Grand Prize, so when the bank phoned me to tell me that I’d won, it was like I was still dreaming,” said Mr. Mohammed. “The money has come into my life at a great time and will help me to meet a number of family commitments back home in India.”
Mr. Waleed Saeed Al Awadi, Head of Branches and Royal Banking, Deputy Chief Marketing Officer, said: “The Kunooz Account offers customers like Mr. Mohammed an opportunity to maximise the returns on their money in a fully Shari’a compliant manner. We are delighted this blessing will help a young man to help his family back home in India.”
Under the Kunooz monthly cash prize promotion, each multiple of AED 1,000 deposited in the Kunooz Account qualifies the customer for multiple entries into the draw for daily cash prizes of AED 30,000. For every multiple of AED 5,000 deposited, account holders become entitled for entry into the monthly grand prize draw of AED 1 million. The programme also offers participants the possibility to win more than once.
