HMC Engages Internationally Renowned Clinicians to Provide Medical Treatment in Qatar Over the Summer Months

With an increasing number of Qatari nationals and other residents choosing to remain in the country over the summer period in solidarity, Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) has developed a summer program of engaging visiting consultants. This program has been developed in addition to the routine visiting consultant program at HMC, further improving the delivery of care over the summer months. 

HMC’s leadership team efforts underline the corporation’s commitment to ensuring sufficient clinical cover during the summer period.  Mr. Ali Al Khater, Chief Communications Officer at HMC said: “With many Qataris and residents deciding to remain in Qatar over the summer to demonstrate their support and solidarity with the rest of the population and the government, it is important that Hamad Medical Corporation supports our citizens by enabling them to receive treatment here at home without needing to leave the country.”

“Many of our doctors across all specialties have also postponed their leave during the summer, opting to remain on duty to maintain high levels of activity at this time.

Al Khater added: “This week we are receiving a team of consultants specializing in rehabilitation from the UK which will visit patients at Qatar Rehabilitation Institute (QRI) on 15 July 2017. Many nationals will therefore have the opportunity to receive specialized care in Qatar from a number of visiting clinicians. These specialist consultant doctors have been selected according to their expertise and experience and have flown in from all over the globe.”
