‘Happiness’ is an overriding emotion that resonates amongst fans of the ever-smiling mascot ‘Modhesh’, and this year happiness along with innovation are also the key drivers of Modhesh World, one of the most popular indoor edutainment destinations in the region. Each new season of Modhesh World hosts an array of activities that are carefully designed by experts with the aim of spreading joy and positivity amongst both local communities and international visitors in Dubai.

A ‘Happiness Workshop’ conducted by ‘The Happy Box’ at Modhesh World is one such fan-fare that is witnessing wide smiles and unrestricted glee as children hone their artistic flair. Located in the Show Town zone (Hall 6) of Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC), The Happy Box is an educational and social enterprise on an unwavering mission of spreading happiness and strengthening the bond between children and family with the common thread of art.

In this workshop, children between the ages of 3 of 11 are accompanied by a guardian to complete a decoration, drawing and designing task in four different activity zones. The individual zones or ‘craft corner’ – which are conceived by seasoned educationalists - contribute towards one theme that changes every day of the week. The activity area accommodates up to 30 children at a time, and each child may take up to 15-20 minutes to complete the task assigned in one craft corner with the help of a variety of design materials and stationery before moving on to the next.

The result is substantial time spent in honing creativity and imagination, real-time application of cognitive and motor abilities and learning achieved in a progressive and immersive fashion. Themes such as ‘Jungle Fever’, ‘Friends of the Desert’, ‘La La Land’, ‘Summer Fun’, ‘Contemporary Pop’, ‘Islamic Art’, and ‘Tutu and Super Heroes’ add to the element of excitement and exploration amongst children.

Entry to the workshop is free and families are accompanied by highly qualified and trained staff to assist in completing the task.

Suhaila Saqer Obaid Ghubash, Director, Festivals and Events, Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE), said: “Modhesh World mirrors the aspirations of the city of Dubai and the UAE at large – to help people from all walks achieve a sense of happiness and peace with themselves while in pursuit of their dreams. All activities within the park are curated to blend learning with fun and make ‘edutainment’ an attractive proposition that spreads smiles and happiness amongst children. We are delighted that the Happiness Workshop run by The Happy Box is enjoyed by both children and parents, and it is reassuring to know that Modhesh World is playing a part in bringing families together as they explore their innate creativity and complete tasks by combining their skills.”

Jumana Al Darwish, Founder, The Happy Box, said: “At our workshop, everything from the choice of theme and design exercises to the assortment of stationery materials is undertaken with one objective in mind – spreading happiness. The Happy Box creates an ideal environment for children and parents to collaborate and combine their creative genius to complete a challenge. We believe in the philosophy of living in the moment and that our best memories are often marked by the times spent as a family. Modhesh World is an ideal platform to live that philosophy and we hope that families that spend their moments of togetherness in this park are inspired to do the same in their daily lives.”

Modhesh World runs from June 20th to August 12th 2017 in Hall 1-6 in the Dubai World Trade Centre. Tickets are valued at just AED 20 and kids under the age of two enter for free.
