EMAL unites 9000 workers to cap eight days of UAE National Day Celebrations
Emirates Aluminium (EMAL), the Taweelah based aluminium smelter, has capped eight days of activities celebrating the UAE’s 41st day with a 9,000 on site address, uniting its workforce for the final day marking the spirit of the union. Activities have included a community day celebrating Emirati culture in Al Rahba Park, and the planting of a Unity Tree in honour of the Union Tree initiative of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
Each EMAL department decorated their areas with national day designs and slogans; in addition to distributing 41st National Day branded souvenirs and gifts. Moreover, the closure event included nearly nine thousand employees and workers, addressed by Saeed Fadhel Al Mazrooei, EMAL’s President and CEO and Yousuf Bastaki, EMAL’s Vice-President for projects on the essence of this unity and the accomplishments achieved in the UAE. To mark the special occasion, two new buildings were inaugurated for the benefit of EMAL’s present and future employees. One is a dedicated Human Resources Cabin to provide a specialised area for new Emirati National prospective recruitment.
The other is a special Rest Facility for overnight staff working on shifts, particularly new employees becoming accustomed to shift life pattern, allowing staff to rest after work before driving home. Furthermore, an Emirati cultural experience was provided for international engineers, staff, contractors and consultants, including traditional food and activities such as henna, falconry and camel riding.
