Dubai Culture spreads joy of Mid Sha’aban to children across Dubai

The Dubai Culture & Arts Authority (Dubai Culture), the Emirate’s dedicated Authority for culture, arts, and heritage, once again marked the joy of Mid Sha’aban with activities for children across Dubai.

Signifying the arrival of the Holy Month of Ramadan, Mid Sha’aban falls on the 15th of the eighth month of the Islamic calendar, and is celebrated by handing out sweets and Dubai Culture hosted heritage celebrations featuring Arabian hospitality with popular dishes, traditional handicrafts, henna, and Emirati music and dance performances, at Rashid Centre for the Disabled and Family Community Centre in Al Mamzar; and Naif Museum hosted a group of children from Al Noor Centre for Special Needs and Anees Al Ansari School.

The Authority also hosted the celebrations across numerous hospitals, nursing homes, and government departments including Dubai Museum, the Roads and Transport Authority, Dubai Media Office, Al Jalila Centre, the office of Princess Haya, Wife of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, as well as the office of Her Highness Sheikha Latifa Bint Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of Dubai Culture, where they distributed sweets, and sang traditional songs.

Each year, the Authority creates custom-made tote bags with the traditional sweets and savouries, and information on Mid Sha’aban, to educate residents and visitors on the customs and heritage of the UAE.
