Dubai Customs joins “My Family Reads” initiative

Dubai Customs has joined the “My Family Reads” initiative, which was recently launched as per the directives of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, in line with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, to create a literate knowledge-based community.

H.E. Ahmed Mahboob, Director of Dubai Customs, received in his office Mr. Jamal bin Huwaireb Al Muhairi, Managing Director of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Foundation (MBRF) and founder of the Jamal Bin Huwaireb library for Heritage and History. Ahmed Kazim, Director of Strategy and Corporate Excellence, and Khalil Saqer, Director of Corporate Communication at Dubai Customs, were present at the meeting, which saw a discussion of a joint mechanism between DC and MBRF to implement the “My Family Reads” initiative and disseminate knowledge among employees, urging them to read.

H.E. Ahmed Mahboob Musabih said:” This initiative is an opportunity to involve families in group reading activities, which expand the knowledge of children and youngsters .”

The Director of Dubai Customs valued the “My Family Reads” initiative, adopted by MBRF, in an effort to encourage the Emirati community to read. “This is a community initiative as it enhances the knowledge exchange between corporations and government entities and employees and their families to boost their reading ability. A group of carefully-selected world-renowned books will be distributed to the targeted segment, giving them a strong incentive for further innovation at work and develop their capabilities in various aspects of life,” Ahmed Mahboob added.  

On his side, Jamal Bin Huwaireb handed Ahmed Mahboob a customized selection of books covering a variety of knowledge disciplines in management, art of living , family, and world history and heritage.
