Dubai Customs hones the expertise of 140 employees in critical specialized fields

Dubai Customs Training Center organized four awareness workshops targeting 140 employees of various departments, to introduce them to security and safety procedures, first aid, emergencies and crises, and the control of tobacco counterfeiting and contraband.
Dubai Customs Training Center Director (Acting), Dr. Sheikha Al Ghafri, explained the purpose behind staging such courses, saying, “We are always committed to delivering the best of what can better hone employees’ skills and nurture their scientific knowledge, as well as ensure their optimal responsiveness in times of crises and emergencies.”
Al Ghafri also noted that these courses are concerned with employees’ personal safety at wok which implies providing them with training on first aid and security and safety procedures.
The training bundle also included a specialized course on detecting counterfeit cigarettes and means of inhibiting illicit trading of forged items.
On the other hand, Dubai Civil Defence cadres were also present to provide Dubai Customs safety and security specialists with hands-on experience on how to deal with fire incidents and the optimal way of managing the associated risks.
