Dubai Chamber organises workshop on managing limited liability companies

Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry recently organised a workshop in collaboration with Baker & McKenzie Habib Al Mulla, on how to manage a limited liability company, as part of its efforts to help businesses understand the legal aspects and framework of doing business in the emirate. 

The workshop, which was attended by Dubai Chamber members, lawyers and legal professionals, investors, contract specialists, SME owners, business executives and corporate counsel, touched upon the topics of avoiding common pitfalls and discussed the practical aspects of managing LLCs as well as the possible impact of new legislation. 

Ms Jehad Kazim, Director, Legal Services Department, Dubai Chamber, said: “With Limited Liability Companies being the most common form of company structure in the UAE and with increased competition and market growth, it is important to ensure that companies are managed properly.’’

She further stressed that the workshop helped companies understand how to manage a limited liability company in the face of obstacles and challenges while educating company representatives on what to expect in the future as legislation related to LLCs develops. 

The workshop was conducted by Tom Thraya, Partner, Will Seivewright, Partner, and Carine Souaiby, Counsel, at Baker & McKenzie Habib Al Mulla.
