The Department of Municipal Affairs discusses ways of cooperation with Microsoft

As step to enhance mutual cooperation, H.E. Engineer Ahmed Mohamed Al Shareef the Under Secretary of the Department of Municipal Affairs (DMA) received a delegation from Microsoft headed by Mr. Marc Roussel Vice President for Europe and the Middle East Region. The meeting reviewed ways of enhancing cooperation between both sides and discussed different strategies which could help the DMA to simplify procedures in the municipal work and enhance services provided by the Municipalities to the residents, investors and visitors of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.

The meeting was attended by H.E Jasem Mohamed Al Darmaki the Managing Director of Municipal Affairs Support Sector in the DMA and H.E Dr. Abdullah Ghareeb Al Baloushi the Managing Director of the Land & Property Management Sector in the DMA.

H.E.  Engineer Ahmed Mohamed Al Sharif said that the Municipal System works effortlessly to develop its technical abilities and use up to date programs to simplify procedures and enhance services provided to the public, considering Microsoft as a strategic partner to achieve this aim.  H.E. added that the advanced and optimized technical programs increase the customers satisfaction by making services easier, and more effective and less time consuming in areas like construction permits, issuing no objections certificates and applying the new Abu Dhabi building codes. In addition to this, advanced programs enhance work performance and efficiency among the Municipal work force.

In addition to the above, The DMA emphasized during the meeting on the importance of training programs to be provided by Microsoft to the Municipal System employees and highlighted the need of the Municipal System employees to be more involved in the planning and production of these programs in order to provide the most effective services.

It is worth mentioning that the new direction of the Municipal System towards more unification of services and major strategies would open the door for more cooperation with Microsoft which could enhance the efficiency of the municipal work in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, and supports the government directions toward achieving sustainable development and providing better municipal services to the public, investors and visitors of the Emirate.
