Fouad Abu Saif, Finance and Business Support Manager at Crowne Plaza Jordan Dead Sea Resort & Spa, part of InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG), was presented with the Best Target Gross Operating Profit Award for 2016 on the sidelines of the Group’s annual Chief Financial Officers Conference, which was held at the InterContinental Doha Hotel in Qatar between 7 and 9 March, 2017.

The award underscores the efforts exerted by the Resort’s management to increase its profit margin through expense management, as well as the development of innovative and well-thought-out plans, which correspond with the forecasted change in income as a result of local and regional challenges facing the Jordanian tourism sector.

Throughout 2016, the management of Crowne Plaza Jordan Dead Sea Resort & Spa worked on raising the gross income percentage by 15% compared with 2015. Moreover, the management team was able to raise the gross profit percentage by 224% compared with 2015 by developing and implementing a set of fiscal policies, which had a tremendous effect on the restructuring of expenses in general. Furthermore, the management ensured to uphold global accounting policies while maintaining the quality of services offered to Resort visitors.

On this occasion, Firas Irsheidat, Area General Manager for IHG Dead Sea Jordan Hotels, stressed that this award is one of the most important and prestigious within the financial administration field, which is concerned with account management, cash flow supervision, and the study and analysis of the financial, monetary and economic positions of any facility.

Irsheidat went on to express his delight with Crowne Plaza Jordan Dead Sea Resort & Spa’s win of such an exclusive award, presented to just one hotel each year across India, the Middle East and Africa. “This award comes as the culmination of 2016, a year in which the Resort received numerous awards in all areas of hotel operations, from management to services and quality,” Irsheidat said. “These recognitions reflect the Resort’s standing as a leading winner of distinguished awards in the Kingdom, as well as the whole team’s commitment to excellence.”
