Awqaf and Minors Affairs Foundation honors 371 outstanding students at special ceremony

Awqaf and Minors Affairs Foundation (AMAF) hosted a ceremony to honor 371 outstanding achievers students under its care. Held at Armani Hotel in Dubai, the event drew the participation of His Excellency Dr. Thani Ahmed Al Zeyoudi Minister of Climate Change and Environment, and His Excellency Dr Ahmad Belhoul Al Falasi, Minister of State for Higher Education and Ahmed Abdul Karim Mohammed Julfar as Director General of the Dubai Community Development Authority (CDA).

Representing AMAF at the special ceremony were His Excellency Tayeb Al-Rais, Secretary General, and other senior officials as well as members of AMAF management team as well as businessmen and personalities associated with the charity field also attended the event.

During the ceremony, the students took an oath to continue their journey of excellence in their academic and upcoming professional life to serve their nation and contribute to its development.

Speaking at the ceremony, His Excellency Tayeb Al-Rais said: “As our wise leadership has repeatedly emphasized, education is a vital pillar of development. The founding father of the UAE, late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, established schools and universities so that citizens of this country could obtain the necessary knowledge to contribute to its success.”

He added: “His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has also reiterated the importance of developing our human capital, and said that building nations is not complete without building their citizens.”

Speaking on AMAF’s role in educating minors, His Excellency Tayeb Al-Rais said: “As part of our mandate to empower the children under our care until they graduate from university, Awqaf and Minors Affairs Foundation spares no effort in providing a stimulating environment and all the necessary tools to enable them to make the most of their education. Our initiative honoring outstanding students aligns with the UAE’s relentless drive towards excellence in education.”

In line with the UAE’s Year of Giving, the ceremony reflected AMAF’s firm commitment to charity and philanthropy. Through rewarding academic achievements, the Foundation expressed its appreciation for the vital role schools play in the country’s progress and in educating generations that realize the importance of giving for achieving global stability and security.

Awqaf and Minors Affairs

The birth of the Awqaf and Minors Affairs Foundation (AMAF) came with the issue of law No. 6 in 2004 during the era of the late His Highness Sheikh Maktoum bin Rashid Al Maktoum. With the expansion of the institution in its work and functions, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Mak​toum, Vice-President and Prime Minister and Ruler Dubai issued law No. 9 in 2007 organizing the work of the institution, to ensure the provision of a conducive environment for greater achievements in the development of ‘awqaf’ and minors’ ​funds, and the care of their affairs, according to a well-aimed plan, and a conscious vision and insight.
