ALBAWABA - As fans await the release of Nintendo's most anticipated console, the Switch 2, US customers have flooded several social media platforms to complain about their negative experience with pre-orders, further criticizing stores such as Best Buy, Walmart, and Target.
Several social media users said their orders were cancelled 30 minutes after they secured a place to buy the long-awaited console, showcasing receipts from US stores such as Target.
Many blamed scalpers who have already swarmed eBay with Nintendo Switch 2 pre-order deals. And you guessed it, they are hundreds of dollars above the retail price, for an already expensive device.
Nintendo Switch 2 US pre-orders spark mayhem
A social media user took to Musk's X (formerly Twitter) and wrote, "Choose your switch 2 Pre-Order Warrior:
- Best Buy: Coming Soon
- Walmart: Hold my spot and keep shopping
- Target: Something went wrong, please try again."
Others expressed concern after placing an order on Target but not getting a confirmation email to solidify their purchase.
Nintendo doesn't seem to catch a break. The Japanese tech giant has been under a huge deal of controversy due to its bizarre pricing of upcoming games such as Mario Kart: World, which will launch for a whopping $80 digitally and $90 physically.
However, players could buy Mario Kart: World for $50 if they buy it as a bundle with the Switch 2.
Many fans expressed their anger towards Nintendo, claiming that the company is "greedy" and has set a new high for the price of upcoming games in the gaming industry, whether it's PC, Xbox, or PlayStation.
