National Aviation Services Company (NASCO), handling agent at Kuwait International Airport, has awarded SITA Information Network Computing a two-year contract to install and maintain SITA's Common Use Terminal Equipment (CUTE) check-in service and its BagManager Baggage Reconciliation System (BRS).
The project, valued at $1.8 million, will upgrade the passenger and baggage handling systems at Terminal Four to improve passenger services.
Currently 35 major airlines operate at Kuwait International Airport accounting for over 2.4 million passengers per year. SITA's latest Java-based and Internet Protocol (IP) enabled CUTE system will operate at 16 check-in desks and optimize resource utilization for the airport, as well as facilitate the movement of passengers through the terminal.
Similarly, SITA's baggage reconciliation system, BagManager, will speed the handling of over 3.75 million bags per year at the airport and will help reduce flight delays.
BagManager is a real-time interactive tracking solution, including bag load/no-load decision functionality that goes beyond matching hold baggage to the passenger on board. It also tracks bags at the airport from check-in, to loading in a container, to placement onboard an aircraft as well as in transit at intermediate airports and through to arrival at the final destination.
NASCO provides an array of services such as cargo handling for airlines, passenger services for travelers, which include advanced check-in and immigration facilities, lounges and limousine services. — (menareport.com)
