ALBAWABA - X (formerly Twitter) users can now tell whether the content they are consuming is manipulated after Musk's social media platform reportedly rolled out a new feature warning whether posts are fake or edited.

According to reports on the platform, this will prevent suspicious media outlets from misleading X users with manipulated and false content using edited clips and pictures.

DogeDesigner wrote, "This makes it harder for legacy media groups to spread misleading clips or pictures."

Videos of the new feature flooded X, showcasing how it works. Clips of the new feature claimed that users will be met with a message that reads, following a yellow warning sign, "Stay informed. Manipulated Media."

Tech billionaire Elon Musk took to his official account and wrote "Edited visuals warning," in response to a video posted by X user DogeDesigner.

According to X's AI companion Grok, the new feature detects manipulated media using AI, reports, and community notes that previously flagged content as misleading.

The new feature received positive reception from X users who stated that it will help minimize fake content and prevent confusion if implemented properly with factual evidence.

An X user wrote, "Honestly, this was overdue. So much confusion online came from visuals taken out of context or lightly edited to mislead. A clear warning at least gives people a pause before reacting emotionally." They added, "It feels like a small fix to a very loud problem."

The warning will be beneficial to users due to the rise of AI-generated content on social media, which is becoming harder to detect.
