ALBAWABA – Microsoft, the American multinational technology company, has announced plans to establish multiple artificial intelligence (AI) data centers in Kuwait.

Microsoft and Kuwait sign agreement to establish AI centers

The Kuwaiti government and Microsoft have signed a partnership agreement to establish multiple artificial intelligence (AI) data centers in Kuwait. Omar Saud Al-Omar, Kuwait's Minister of State for Communication Affairs, presented the strategic partnership agreement to the Kuwaiti Council of Ministers.

As per the agreement, Microsoft will launch artificial intelligence (AI) data centers aimed at providing skill development and training for Kuwaiti individuals, helping them accelerate their entry and growth in the labor market.

According to Reuters, the agreement will focus on establishing several strategic centers, including a state-of-the-art artificial intelligence (AI) data center to strengthen the country’s AI infrastructure, a cloud computing excellence center to enhance cloud capabilities, and an initiative dedicated to equipping Kuwaiti individuals with the AI skills needed to excel and develop the labor market.

As part of Kuwait's Vision 2035, the country is emphasizing the development of its artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure by collaborating with Microsoft to establish multiple strategic centers, empower and qualify its citizens, sustain its digital infrastructure, and strengthen research cooperation in AI and cloud computing with Microsoft.
