(MEBG) – Petronet LNG Ltd (PLL) is currently finalizing a $390 million contract for the construction a liquid natural gas (LNG) terminal and associated facilities in India, ahead of the activation of an agreement PLL signed for the purchase of gas from Qatar's Ras Laffan Liquefied Natural Gas Co (RasGas). The 25-year deal is for 7.5 mtpa of LNG.
The construction of the new facilities must be should be complete by 2003 to meet Qatari gas shipments From Ras Laffan. At this stage, PLL is not considering an option it has to purchase a a 5 percent stake in the Qatari gas company.
