ALBAWABA - SpaceX and xAI CEO Elon Musk revealed that a beta version of 'Grokipedia,' which is a Wikipedia alternative, is launching in two weeks.

Musk took to X (formerly Twitter) and wrote, "Version 0.1 early beta of Grokipedia will be published in 2 weeks."

Grokipedia, which is dubbed "The Free Knowledge Index," aims to provide internet users with the world's largest knowledge base, similar to how Wikipedia operates.

In March, Elon Musk wrote on X, "Wikipedia is losing the plot. Time for something better. Grokipedia?"

Musk added in his post that the platform will be available to everyone with unlimited access, in contrast to Grok, which includes a paid subscription for users who wish for a higher usage limit and advanced features that are not available in the free version.

According to Straight Arrow News, Wikipedia co-founder Larry Sanger said that he's happy that Elon Musk is creating a new competitor to the platform. However, he expressed concerns about how the new knowledge database could be biased due to incorporating artificial intelligence technology.

Recently, Musk called for individuals to join xAI and "help build Grokipedia," claiming it would be better than Wikipedia.

A fellow X user wrote, "You know Grok uses Wiki pages?" To which Musk replied that xAI will have that fixed by the end of 2025.
