Fujitsu-ICL Systems Inc., an e-business services company, has announced its intent to form a joint venture with Foursan Technology Partners, a venture capital firm and technology holding company based in Amman, a statement by Fujitsu-ICL said.
The product of this joint venture, to be known as 4Mena Systems, will be based in the Middle East. 4Mena will provide e-business design, development and integration services for companies in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.
4Mena Systems will combine Fujitsu-ICL's expertise in e-business and information technology (IT) integration with Foursan's venture capital resources and partnerships in the MENA region.
Dallas-based Fujitsu-ICL provides consultancy-led technical design, systems integration and managed infrastructure services that enable customers to develop new web-based business models.
As a leading venture capital firm serving the MENA region, Foursan invests and is actively involved in promising start-up and emerging-growth information technology ventures.
According to Dean Whitlock, executive vice-president and chief operating officer for Fujitsu-ICL's e-business services group, the joint venture with Foursan will enable Fujitsu-ICL to expand its business to reach an established network of software, information services, data communications, networking, wireless and Internet delivery companies in the MENA region.
"Our relationship with Foursan provides us with the ability to deliver e- business solutions and systems integration capabilities to an increasingly sophisticated but technologically under-served region of the world," Whitlock said.
"E-business is a fairly new frontier for the MENA area, yet the high demand for cutting edge technology combined with the multitude of IT initiatives around the region gives Fujitsu-ICL an immediate opportunity to access a relatively untapped area for technology growth."
Fareed Asa'di, a partner with Foursan Technology Partners and acting managing director of 4Mena Systems, said Foursan chose Fujitsu-ICL as a result of the company's demonstrated services and technology skills that draw on Fujitsu's global resources and experience.
Asa'di added "We are very excited about this joint venture and the opportunities that 4Mena Systems has ahead of it, and we have already started collaborating with Fujitsu-ICL to identify promising projects in the region. We believe that Fujitsu-ICL will be an ideal partner for us in the Middle East and North Africa, bringing to the region the right technology, products and e- business strategies." — ( Jordan Times )
