Oriental Weavers achieved a noticeable increase in profits during the first six month of FY 2000.
Net profits reached LE 61.39 million compared to LE 56.44 million during the same period of the previous year, representing an 8.8 percent increase.
During the financial year ending June 30, Eastern Tobacco achieved LE 1.996 billion in net sales with an increase of LE 104 million, or 5.5 percent.
The company also achieved LE 366.66 million in net profits after taxes, an 9.4 percent increase. Dividends distributed are expected to be around LE 7.43 per share. The general meeting of the company will be held in September 16, at 11:00 am at the sports club of the company. — (
