The region's largest international exhibition of internal security, law enforcement and defence equipment, Milipol Qatar 2004, opened Monday in Doha. More than 4000 professional international visitors, as well as the delegations of ministries of the state members of the GCC are expected during the three days of the event.
The fair was inaugurated at the Qatar International Exhibition Centre by the Minister of State for Interior Affairs, Sheikh Hamad bin Nasser bin Jassim Al Thani.
Gilles Barissat, President Director General of Europeenne des Salons, organisers of Milipol fairs told The Peninsula newspaper that this year's Milipol Qatar was a success as with 35 exhibitors taking part making it a truly international fair.
He said the theme of this year's fair focussed on combating terrorism with most of the countries displaying their cutting edge equipment in the field. (menareport.com)
