An agreement for the electrification of railway lines of Algiers suburbs was signed, Saturday in Algiers, by CEO of the national railway transportation (SNTF), Abdelhamid Lalaimia and Alstom-France CEO, Michel Kron. According to APS, the contract won by Alstom is estimated at AD7.8 billion for the electrification of railway lines and AD25 billion for the acquisition of the necessary material.
This project includes the electrification of 340 km of railway lines and installations, in a first step, 30 electric trains for 1,200 passengers/unit. The deadlines fixed for the realisation of this project are of 38 months. (menareoprt.com)
