An Algerian newspaper has quoted Amr Moussa, the Secretary General of the Arab League, as describing Libyan leader Mooammar Gaddafi as a "donkey" and "Impoverished" in response to claims made by Gaddafi that he got bribery. Moussa accused Gaddafi of plotting to assassinate him, commenting on the statement by the latter that the Moussa would not rule Egypt .

The AL chief claimed Colonel Gaddafi is spreading lies when he says he gave him a car worth 42,000 euros and some money. Moussa explained that the car belonged to the Arab League indicating the license plate confirms that the vehicle is licensed on behalf of the League and not on his name. In regard to receiving large sums, Moussa said: "I challenge Gaddafi to prove that I took from one penny. Gaddafi is Impoverished. He refused to pay the contributions of Libya to the Arab League until the last summit when we pressured him to pay.

Regarding Qaddafi's charge against Moussa, that Lebanon Premier Saad Hariri used to sent him his private jet and pay him US$10,000 for his intervention to resolve the Lebanese crisis between Saad Hariri and Hizbullah, Moussa said: " He is a donkey. Yes I used Hariri's plane once, but many Arab leaders and kings send their private jets to the AL chief to enable him to do his tasks and return at the same day." He added: "I confirm that I have used private jets of Saudi, Lebanese and Egyptian leaders. If once I used the plane of Hariri, I used Gaddafi's plane 10 times."
