Xabi Alonso has insisted that he is enjoying Bayer Leverkusen's historic Bundesliga title win.

Liverpool and Bayern Munich were linked with the Spaniard in recent weeks, but will have to turn their attention towards other options.

Xabi said after winning the title, as quoted by Tribal Football: "When I feel that the team is behind me, the feeling that they want to believe, it's much easier.

“That was my great enjoyment, that I had the feeling that the team was really committed, and once you have that it's much easier.

"I don't know what it will mean for the future, but at the moment it feels pretty great."

Further reports revealed that Liverpool are now eyeing Sporting CP boss Ruben Amorim. Whereas, Bayern are negotiating Julian Nagelsmann over a possible return to the Allianz Arena.
