Tunis will host on March 9 a seminar on the Arab Sport Press, organised by the Arab Sport Press Assocaition (ASPA), the Association of Tunisian Sport Journalists with the contribution of the Tunis Afrique Press (TAP) agency.
The event will be held at the headquarters of the Arab States Broadcasting Union (ASBU), with attendance of ASPA President Mohamed Jamil Abdelkader and several members of the union.
A ceremony will be held on the occasion in honour of Arab national teams who qualified for the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia, namely, Tunisia, Morocco, Egypt and Saudi Arabia.
Representatives and ambassadors of the above mentioned countries and media sport figures are invited to the ceremony, said a source of the organising committee.
On the agenda of the event, conferences and debates on the journalists’ role, the posed challenges and relations between press agencies and audiovisual and electronic press.
The media coverage and the press organisation modalities of the forthcoming world cup (June 14-July 15 in Russia) will be discussed on this occasion, in addition to the Arab media’s role in promoting Arab football that participates for the first time in its history in a world cup with four teams.
Besides, the ASPA executive board will hold its meeting in Tunis on the same day.
