Tottenham Hotspur has raised the stakes for the clubs wishing to buy star Gareth Bale, with prices ranging from 65 million pounds to a whopping 100 million pounds, according to various English media reports.
According to the Sun, Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy has slapped a record 100 million-pound price tag on Bale, hoping that the mind-boggling sum will frighten off the chasing pack, which includes Bayern Munich, Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain .
However, the Mirror said that it will take a 65 million-pound bid to prise Bale out of Tottenham.
The reports further said that Levy wants to keep the Welsh footballer for at least another year even though new Bayern boss Pep Guardiola is determined to make Bale his first big signing.
According to the reports, Bale, who returns from an ankle injury today as Spurs host Manchester City in a must-win game for the Londoners, may change his mind if his side fails to land a lucrative Champions League spot for next season. (ANI)
