The Omani Journalists Association (OJA), represented by the Sport Media Committee (SMC), in cooperation with the Ministry of Sports Affairs, the Ministry of Information, Oman Olympic Committee (OOC) and Oman Football Association (OFA), today organized "Sport Media Forum".
The activities of the forum were held under the patronage of Shaikh Sa'ad bin Mohammed Al Mardhouf al-Sa'adi, Minister of Sports Affairs, in the presence of Rashad bin Ahmed al-Hinai, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Sports Affairs, Shaikh Saif bin Hilal al-Hosani, OOC Acting Chairman and Salim bin Said al-Wahibi, Chairman of OFA.
The forum began with a speech of the SMC delivered by Salim bin Hamad al-Jahwary, Deputy Chairman of OJA during which he said, "The Arab Forum addresses many common tracks in the sports field. The experience we are presenting is considered one of the most important programs that support these generations of Omani youth who is looking forward to providing the best programs through the events presented to them in this forum and the media course."
In the speech of the Gulf Union for Sports Media (GUSM), Salim al-Habsi, Chairman of GUSM said: "The Arab Media Forum, which involves participation of a group of media professionals, the experience of whom exceeded 40 years, represents a starting point for creating a common vision for active sports media."
The forum included three sessions on various fields, which brought together media professionalism, sports and pecialized academic culture, along with sports experiences.
The first session was entitled "Sports Culture and Sustainable Development". The second session was themed "Successful Media Experiences". The third session was entitled "Omani Sports Modals".
Sheikh al-Sa'adi, Minister of Sports Affairs, stressed the importance of organizing such forums in the exchange of knowledge, expertise and media skills. He added that such media forums and seminars with the participation of a group of media professionals and academics who presented important specialized working papers are important in identifying the paths to achieve aspirations and realizing sustainable development. He further said that everyone recognizes the importance of the media and the role it plays at all levels.
