Registration is still open for the Sharjah Ladies Duathlon to be held at Al Qasimia University from 6.30am on Friday.
All women aged 15 and over can compete individually or as part of a team in the 5km run and 9km cycle event.
Organisers Sharjah Ladies Club will provide all the equipment needed to compete. The winner of the individual category will get a cash prize of Dh7,000, second will get Dh6,000 and third will get Dh5,000. In the team category first place wins Dh9,000, second gets Dh8,000 and third takes Dh6,000.
SLC is a subsidiary of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs (SCFA) and since its inception in 1982, has committed itself to providing ladies and children with cultural and entertainment events and facilities.
