New Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim is planning to sign Sporting CP defender Ousmane Diomande, as per The Sun.

The Portuguese manager will officially start at Old Trafford on Monday 11 November, and wants to bring in the 20-year-old with him as soon as possible.

The Ivorian has a £70 million release clause in his current deal with Sporting.

Diomande arrived at the Lisbon giants from FC Midtjylland in 2023 for a reported fee of €7.50m.

He has since then taken part in 67 competitive appearances, with four goals to his name.

His deal with the Portuguese giants expires in the summer of 2027.
