The agent of Al-Ahli's new signing Roger Ibanez revealed that Roma refused to let the Brazilian defender go to a Serie A rival.

The 24-year-old left the Italian giants to join the Saudi Pro League this summer.

He signed a four-year deal as Roma received €30 million in the process.

Ibanez's agent Lodovico Spinosi has admitted that Serie A champions Napoli were interested, however, the Roman club refused to consider selling to another local rival.

Al-Ahli brought in several stars this summer including Gabriel Veiga, Riyad Mahrez, Allan Saint-Maximin, Merih Demiral, Edouard Mendy, Franck Kessie and Roberto Firmino as they push to compete for titles.
