The 27-year-old Tunisian wrestler Marwa Amri won the bronze medal in under-58 kg women’s wrestling at the Rio Olympics.

Japan's Kaori Icho made history Wednesday by becoming the first wrestler to win four gold medals at the Olympic Games on a famous night for her country in Rio de Janeiro.

Icho defeated Russia's Valeriia Koblova Zholobova 3-2 in the women's 58-kilogramme freestyle to add to her three successive golds in the 63-kg class from 2004, 2008 and 2012. Sakshi Malik of India and Marwa Amri of Tunisia won bronze.

Icho's achievement may not be unique for long as team-mate Saori Yoshida can match her total of four golds on Thursday when she begins her quest in the 53-kg category. Yoshida won her previous three golds at the same Games as Icho in the 55-kg band.

Japan also triumphed in the women's 48-kg Wednesday as Eri Tosaka beat Azerbaijan's Mariya Stadnik, with bronze going to China's Sun Yanan and Elitsa Atanasova of Bulgaria.

And in the women's 69-kg Sara Dosho made it treble on the night for Japan as she downed Russia's Natalia Vorobeva. Anna Fransson of Sweden and Elmira Syzdykova of Kazakhstan picked up bronze.
